
From 1961-1963 the Cavern Club,
a former vegetable and fruit warehouse in Liverpool, was the Beatles' second
home.

The extensive underground tunnels on George's
property at his Oxfordshire estate make it a nightmare for security people
to guard him.
Ringo's son, Zack, is also a drummer and they
have played together on many gigs. Ringo says that in addition to having
two sons that drum, he also has grandsons that drum!
Paul has written a symphony called Standing Stone
which was premiered at the Royal Albert Hall in London on Oct. 14 as part
of the 100th anniversary of EMI. The author of this page attended and spoke
with Sir Paul, his wife Linda, two of his daughters, and his son, James.
George met his wife when she acted in the movie,
A Hard Day's Night, with him. Ringo met his wife when she was standing
in line to see him play and he walked by. John met his wife when they were
students together in a class at scho ol. Paul met his wife at a
nightclub called The Bag O' Nails. She took
photographs of him at the press party presenting Sargeant Pepper's Lonely
Hearts Club Band.
When John and Paul wanted to play guitars together,
John's Aunt Mimi (who reared him) would make them stay on the porch at
her house, Mendips. She did not approve of being in a band. After attaining
such astounding success in the m usic world, John presented a gold plaque
to his Aunt Mimi that had some of her regretted advice, "Playing guitar
is wonderful, but you'll never make a living of it!"
John loved to experiment with different sounds
he could make, especially with his voice. Sometimes he would even lay on
his back on the floor as he sang.
Neil Aspinal, the Beatles long-standing (and
current) employee was encouraged to stay with the group by his best friend,
Pete Best, when Pete was asked to leave.
John & Paul performed as the Nerk twins
twice in a bar run by Paul's cousin Bett (Elizabeth) Robbins. They were
allowed to perform as pay for helping run the bar.
Rory Storm and the Hurricanes played split shifts
with the Beatles at the Kaiserkeller club in Hamburg, Germany. They had
a fierce contest between them to see which of them could demolish the club's
rotten stage by stomping on it.
Delbert McClinton, who played for Bruce Channel,inspired
John Lennon to play harmonica.
Pete Best was forced to leave his drums behind
when he and Paul were deported from Germany on trumped-up charges of arson.
The Beatles spent 500 hours on stage in Hamburg,
playing for very low wages, as little as 30 DM (Deutsche Marks) a day.
The film Oh Heavenly Dog features Paul
McCartney's song "Arrow Through Me" from the CD Back to the Egg.

The section in London called Marylebone is significant
because it was the section where The Beatles started the filming of their
hit movie A Hard Days Night. It also was where Paul and Linda got married.
The first Beatles record not to make #1 in Britain
was Strawberry Fields/Penny Lane.
Please Please Me was the Beatles' first album,
and it was recorded in one day-long session. Released in England in March
1963, it reached #1 on the charts, where it stayed until the release of
With The Beatles, their second album. Please Please Me was released in
the U. S. in July 1963 under the name Introducing the Beatles.
Paul and Linda McCartney were married 29 years.
All the other Beatles have had at least one divorce.
Of the first wives of the Beatles, the only one
who was not pregnant when getting married was Patti Harrison. She and George
never had children. She left George for one of his best (and current) friends,
Eric Clapton.
While George Harrison was being filmed for the
movie Let It Be, he received several painful shocks from faulty equipment.
The last song that all four Beatles played on
in the studio was I Want You; She's So Heavy.
It has been widely thought that John never used
a stage name, however, Paul stated in John's induction speech at the Rock
and Roll Hall of Fame that John did use the name Long John early in their
career.
After The Beatles' break-up, Paul used the name
Billy Martin to book time in recording studios.
The Beatles were allowed to play at the Jacaranda
Coffee Bar when the resident group had their night off. They each received
a Coca-Cola and beans on toast, but no money.
